The Department of English and Philosophy at Arkansas State University Uonesboro campus) will hold a conference entitled "Delta Studies Symposium IV: Creative Expressions Beyond the Blues," which will focus on forms of expressive culture specific to the Mississippi River Delta. presenters might give special attention to the ways in which the blues has influenced other forms (musical, literary, and visual), to other creative expressions that have emerged from teh Delta experience, adn to pedagogical approaches to these creative expressions from the Delta. We invite scholarly papers, organized panels, creative multimedia presentations, and demonstrations that examine any form of expressive culture that is specific to the region.
