Canadian Review of American Studies 174 Announcements The spring 1994 issue of Resources for American Literary Study initiates a new series, "Prospects for American Literary Study," which will seek to identify the scholarship needed on major American authors. The first instalment in the series is Ed Folsom's "Prospects for the Study of Walt Whitman." Subsequent "Prospects" essayswill appear following the fall 1994 special issue on "Textual Editing and American Literature," guest edited by Philip Cohen. Among the later ''Prospects" essays will be considerations of the future scholarship on Ernest Hemingway (Michael Reynolds), Edgar Allan Poe (Kent Ljungquist), Edith Wharton (Linda Wagner-Martin), Willa Cather (Susan Rosowski), and Frederick Douglass (Wilson Moses).
