Canadian Review of American Studies 161 Announcements The Canadian Association for American Studies and the editors of the Canadian Review of American Studies are pleased to announce the 1993 winner of the association's award for the publication which best exemplifies the discipline of American Studies is MarkHulsether for his article entitled "Evolving Approaches to U.S. Culture in the American Studies Movement: Consensus, Pluralism, and Contestation for Cultural Hegemony." Themes may include: America in Quebec (Acadian, Franco-Canadian) literature , poetry, theatre, or drama; French-American history, institutions, identity, or regionalism; Free trade; Sociocultural dynamics of Francophone tourism in the United States; The United States in French cinema; Images of America (the cowboy, the metis, etc.); American ethnicity; FrancoAmerican cultural, economic, or political ties.
