Fresh purl in our worsted galaxy, I envy your blue amassing dust, knit of organs just begun to ruck the weave— so new off-needle, none you must submit to since this waft is yours to orbit, buck our course, and yet—for one stray wrinkling in design, your hydrogen might have spun a moth, a peptide, ocean swell, or linked like kudzu vines now climbing from a gut not mine. We could have been entwined; somehow in the ironing out of love we’re knots, stuck inside out. I’ve learned to ply flat, also fold: as fabric’s afterthought. And none strain far from any hitch who joins this earth; I’ve known your pull, hooked by its skein— I rejoiced, from the first. [End Page 121]
