Lucy loves her big sister Goosey. There's just one problem: Lucy's a dog, and Goosey is, well, a goose—and a seriously unamused one at that. "There is no wagging tail in a goosey waddle," she tells Lucy. "Go bark and dig and chase like a dog." Lucy complies with a long face, but soon they both discover that Lucy's being a dog doesn't mean she can't be Goosey's friend. Slick cartoon art varies in its expressiveness, but it effectively amps up the comedy when Goosey tries fruitlessly to convince Lucy that she's a dog, not a goose, with Lucy's exuberance playing hilarious counterpoint [End Page 176] to Goosey's indignation. Viewers will cheer when Lucy saves the day by chasing a fox away from Goosey's nest and enjoy the warm pup-and-bird reconciliation as Goosey's eggs hatch little goslings—who immediately identify Lucy as a big sister.
