Abstract:
This article by a cofounding member of Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social (MALCS) provides personal reflections and a brief overview of the iterations of the organization's journal, originally Voces, and now called Chicana/Latina Studies: The Journal of Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social. The article demonstrates the early mission by the organization to provide a space for Chicanas and Latinas engaged in both the academic world of letters and social change in communities, toward creating new epistemologies and methodologies.
