Abstract

Abstract:

CTR asked several musical theatre writers the following question: "Musical theatre is, in its origins, an American idiom. As a Canadian working in this idiom, do you think there's something unique about a Canadian musical, and is there anything that differentiates a Canadian musical or musical theatre writer from an American musical or musical theatre writer?" In this article, brief responses to this question are provided by Wesley J. Colford, Jay Turvey, Paul Sportelli, Barb Johnston, Britta Johnson, Neil Bartram, Brian Hill, and Amiel Gladstone.
