  • In Memoriam

The journal is sorry to announce the passing of Christopher David Innes on June 19, 2017. A prolific scholar of the field, he is mourned by the entire Modern Drama family, of which he was a longtime member.

Prof. Innes joined the editorial advisory board with Modern Drama 23.2 (Summer 1980) and held that position until his death. He served on the journal's governing executive committee for over fourteen years, from 25.2 (Summer 1982) to 39.4 (Winter 1996). And he was credited as an associate or co-editor, working in support of different chief editors, for forty-two issues, from 29.3 (Fall 1986) to 39.4 (Winter 1996). Starting with "The Political Spectrum of Edward Bond: From Rationalism to Rhapsody" (in 25.2), he published nine scholarly articles in the journal; his most recent–"Towards a Postmillennial Mainstream? Documents of the Times"–appeared in 2007 (50.3). [End Page iii]
