Abstract
Former Standing Rock Sioux Tribe (SRST) Tribal Historic Preservation Officer Jon Eagle Sr. describes SRST’s ongoing legal battle to prevent the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) from encroaching on their land and cultural resources. Eagle explains the SRST’s history on the land in question, the troubling history of government encroachment, and the resistance to DAPL.
