Down in the roadside scrub crawled the spiked bright company, glam worms,gathered starts, fat fat globbingly grass blades: certified owned byneighborhood kiddos, trapped in a glass-jar rainforest. Sticks. Stuck.

HEIDI LYNN STAPLES's debut collection, Guess Can Gallop, was selected by Brenda Hillman for the New Issues Poetry Prize. She is coeditor of Big Energy Poets: Ecopoetry Thinks Climate Change, forthcoming from BlazeVOX, and author of A**AA*A*A, her fourth collection, forthcoming in 2018 from Ahsahta Press.
