2017 Willa Cather Spring Conference

The sixty-second annual Willa Cather Spring Conference will be held in Red Cloud, Nebraska, June 1, 2017. The theme of the conference is "Picturing the American West: The Railroad and Popular Imagination." In addition to the conference will be the grand opening of the National Willa Cather Center on June 3, 2017, as well as the opening of a new permanent exhibit, American Bittersweet: The Life and Writing of Willa Cather. 2017 Western History Association Conference

The Fifty-Seventh Annual Conference of the Western History Association will be held November 1–4, 2017, in San Diego, California, at the Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa. The theme of the 2017 conference is "Against the Grain," and will feature papers and presentations that challenge old and new orthodoxies about western history.
