  • Our Golden Anniversary:The 50th Volume of VPR
  • Alexis Easley

As VPR publishes its 50th volume this year, I look back with a sense of appreciation and awe, remembering those who contributed to its stunning success over the years—its editors, sub-editors, bibliographers, readers, and writers, all of whom have played an important role in creating Victorian periodicals research as a robust field of inquiry. Our first issue of the year begins with a memorial to our founding editor, Michael Wolff, who passed away in 2016. I humbly dedicate this issue to his memory.

This year we plan to celebrate our 50th anniversary with a host of special features—interviews, retrospectives, infographics, and other surprises. We get the celebration off to a good start with this double-sized golden issue, which includes innovative essays from new and established stars in the RSVP firmament. Looking ahead, RSVP will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2018. Please let us know if you would like to contribute a retrospective, interview, or memorial essay to an upcoming issue. [End Page 1]
