Abstract

In this article, the author introduces a framework for conceptualizing, understanding, and working with the existence of same-sex sexual practices among people of African descent—Afrocentric Decolonizing Kweer Theory (adkt)—and an epistemology of the erotic to advance that framework in the field of Black sexology. adkt is situated in the interstitial space between Afrocentric Thought, Black Feminist Thought and Black Queer Studies. On the way to the introduction of adkt, the author critiques imperialist white supremacist capitalist heteropatriarchy in mainstream Afrocentric discourses on sexuality and challenges Eurocentricity in Black Queer Studies by relying upon African-centered cultural thought.
