  • Resources for Teaching Early American Studies, Part II
  • Abby Schroering, Review Editorial Assistant

Some of the books that come across the desk here at Early American Literature are meant to be used for instruction in a classroom setting as well as providing new source material for researchers at all levels. Below are reviews from educators from across the country focused on these “teaching texts” and their efficacy for guiding various levels of students through the literatures of early America. This section is the second installment in a series of assessments aimed at providing educators with an overview of the highest- quality instructional materials coming off the presses. We thank the editors of the following publications for making forgotten texts newly available and reminding us that canonical works change with every innovative approach on the part of early Americanists from all fields.
