230 / Journal of Daoist Studies 8 (2015) New Foundation & Conference Site The Elling O. Eide Charitable Foundation began with the bequest of the late sinologist Elling O. Eide, who left his extensive personal library with numerous rare works, Asian artifacts, paintings, and family compound to create an endowed academic research facility. Consisting of a research library, art collection, conference center, and wildlife preserve, the foundation has its headquarters on a beautiful 72-acre campus on Little Sarasota Bay, in Sarasota, Florida. The Library (under construction) primarily serves to provide scholars working in Chinese or Inner Asian studies as well as on Sino-Iranian contacts before the year 1000 AD and Chinese lexicography. Qualified scholars and specialists wishing to work at the Center can utilize these facilities; they can live on campus. In addition, the Center has meeting rooms that allow conferences for up to forty participants; they would stay in local hotels. For more details, please see www.ellingoeide. org.
