Note from the Editor Approaching the end of our 27th year of publication, the Journal is proud to report that it is now in the top 1% of the 600+ journals in the Project Muse database in terms of numbers of downloads—this is a testimony to the quality of the papers we are privileged to publish as well as to the increasing visibility of health inequities around the globe. In this issue, we present an array of articles on four themes: • Standards, Improvements, and Innovations in Care • Latino Health • Specific Conditions and Care Settings • Obesity This month, we are also very pleased to publish a supplemental issue on Rural Health, sponsored by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). This important collection includes work from regions around the U.S. and affiliated regions, including the South Pacific, Appalachia, and Northeastern Minnesota, as well as such diverse populations as uranium miners in the Southwest and women veterans living in rural areas. Finally—and most importantly—our final issue of each year is the one in which we publish the names and affiliations of the many dedicated, generous experts who volunteer their time and judgment to serve as blinded peer reviewers.
