Sherezada (Chiqui) Vicioso

She approached us and said
You have not come to see me
and there was such furor in her eyes
that I knew then and there
that it was not asuntos de negocios,
not a matter of business.
Who is it? I asked surprised
and as if I asked for the time of day he answered
. . . . my lover
Just like that
as he paid the bill
with his twelfth credit card
and he left behind a tip.
And?
( . . . triumphantly he pulled out the keys)
I looked at his jugular
I prepared my sword
and against all precautions
about expenses and benefits
or interests in the stock market
of our joint-ventures
I replied
. . . mine looks much better.
