This semiannual column selectively lists new periodicals; describes their objectives, formats, and contents; and provides information about special issues; title and format changes, mergers, and cessations. Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale [RILM] has announced the publication of RILM Music Encyclopedias, a full-text compilation of 41 titles published from 1775 to the present, the majority of which are not available anywhere else online. RILM Music Encyclopedias comprises nearly 80,000 pages with approximately 165,000 entries. It provides comprehensive coverage of key disciplines, fields of research, and subject areas, among them popular music, opera, musical instruments, blues, gospel, world music, recorded sound, and women composers. Its content spans multiple countries, cultures, and languages. It is designed as a global resource that meets the teaching, learning, and research needs of the international music community. New titles will be added annually. RILM Music Encyclopedias is available via EBSCOhost and is equipped with advanced search and browse capabilities, allowing for cross searches in multiple languages.

Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals, 1800–1950 (Repertoire International de la Presse Musicale [RIPM] Coverage updates include 18 new titles indexed in the Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals: L’Osservatorio (Bologna, 1850–1852), The New York Musical Gazette (New York, 1866–1874), Concordia (London, 1875–1876), Musician and Artist (Boston, 1876), Rivista musicale italiana (Turin, Milan, 1894–1955), The Looker-On (New York, 1895–1897), The Musician (London, 1897), Revue international de musique (Paris, 1898–1899), Mercure musical (Paris, 1905–1906), Wiener Zeitschrift für Musik (Vienna, 1908), Der Merker (Vienna, 1909–1922), La Musique pendant la guerre (Paris, 1914–1916), The Chesterian (London, 1916–1940, 1947–1961), Nea Phorminx (Athens, 1921–1923), Pult und Taktstock (Vienna, 1924–1930), Music Front (New York, 1935), and Revue international de musique (Brussels, 1938–1940, 1950–1952). The Retrospective Index in Print has four new titles indexed in six volumes: The Musical Gazette (London, 1856–1859), La nuova musica (Florence, 1896–1919), The Score (London, 1949–1961), and The Score and I.M.A. Magazine (1954–1961). RIPM in Print will cease in 2016; the final publications (after roughly 350 volumes) will include indexes to Hudební Listy (Brno, 1870–1875), and Music: A Monthly Magazine (Chicago, 1891–1902).
