Lorenzo Thomas, Poet: A Special Section
Should have saved money Now they economize on words Use just enough to spoil The vacancy where storms are built
His purposeful departure for the office Disguises what he knows:
A wandering That seems to be approaching 40 years Not all his life, But all that he can reach
She should have had the sense To be pretentious At least they’d have More trivial problems
At home and twenty feet away He likes the rattle of her desert bracelets
Her silver hair in Pocahontas braids
