Abstract

The field of syllable structure in Modern Hebrew has been largely neglected. The goal of the study whose results are reported in the present article is to shed light on the subject and thus to widen the understanding the morpho-phonemics of Modern Hebrew by analyzing a large representative sample of entries from a Hebrew dictionary and categorizing them by origin, grammatical category, stress position, number of syllables, gender, and number.
