Leonardo, Vol. 15, No. 3, D. i, 1982. Pergamon Press, 1982. Printed in Great Britain. THE CONTINUED PUBLICATION OF LEONARDO APPEAL FOR SUPPORT FROM THE FRIENDS OF LEONARDO The Editors of Leonardo are pleased to announce that the Journal will continue publication in 1983; manuscripts for Volume XVI are now being solicited. Leonardo, in its fifteen years of publication, has becomea uniquejournal in the fieldsof Art, Science and Technology. It has established itself as a professional journal for allthose interested inthecontemporary visual arts, providing a venue where artists have written about their aims, methods and experiences, without restrictions on artistic tendency, artistic content, or medium. It has promoted the interaction of artists, aestheticians, architects, art historians, art teachers, researchers invisualperception, and psychologists, as well as scientists, engineers and technologists. It has continually sought to bridge the gap between thevisual arts, the sciences and technology and to do so with an international scope. These original aims of Frank Malina and Robert Maxwell when they started Leonardo have become a reality. The Editors believe that the need for a journal such as Leonardo still exists and indeed grows, and intend to continue publishing Leonardo with the same aims and scope. The unique genius of Frank Malina, who combined the experience of Artist, Engineer, Editor and promoter of international cooperation, will be hard to replace. It iswith growingrespect forhis achievementthat the Editors are continuing the publication of Leonardo. The future of the Journal, can however, only be assured with the full support of the entire community served by Leonardo. Friends of Leonardo are urged to write to the Editors expressing their views and support as well asto suggestconcrete proposals concerning future publications.
