Editor’s Farewell Message

On August 1, 2015, Professor Debora L. Liddell, University of Iowa, will assume the Editorship of The Journal of College Student Development. I am confident that Professor Liddell and her Associate Editors will serve as excellent stewards of this highly regarded journal.

I have greatly enjoyed and benefited from my 7 years as Editor of The Journal of College Student Development. I am grateful for the support I have received from Executive Directors Gregory Roberts and Cindi Love of the American College Personnel Association. I am also appreciative of the support I have received from ACPA staff members, especially Tricia Fechter, Chris McRoberts, and Ankur Ponda.

I also wish to express my appreciation for the exemplary service of the members of the Editorial Board of JCSD and to the occasional reviewers. These individuals’ steadfast service has defined The Journal of College Student Development as the premier journal focused on the college student.

I most grateful to Susan Jones, Kristen Renn, and Vasti Torres who have served as Associate Editors for the past 7 years. I have greatly benefited from their wise counsel and keen insights regarding the act of scholarship. Their work has also helped elevate the quality of the Journal to the outstanding academic outlet that it is today.

In addition to the three Associate Editors, a line of successive Publication Coordinators have served the Journal in an exemplary manner. I am grateful for their steadfast service to the Journal. In succession these individuals are Michael Montgomery, Willis Jones, Amanda Ochoa, Dominique Baker, and Mary Hutchens. Their work with authors, copy editors, and with the Johns Hopkins University Press has been invaluable to the production of the Journal.

In closing, I am most confident that The Journal of College Student Development will continue to maintain its place as one of the four core journals of higher education as a field of study in general and of student affairs in particular.
