2 OHIO VALLEY HISTORY Stanley E. Hedeen is emeritus professor of biology at Xavier University. He is the author of four books on the Ohio Valley and editor of another, including The Mill Creek: An Unnatural History of an Urban Stream (1994), Natural History of the Cincinnati Region (2006), and Big Bone Lick: The Cradle of American Paleontology (2008). Eileen Muccino is a former logistics manager at Procter and Gamble and a lifelong Cincinnati resident. She received an M.A. in Liberal Studies from Northern Kentucky University. Ann Taylor Allen is a professor of history at the University of Louisville. Her many publications on the history of women and gender include, Feminism and Motherhood in Western Europe, 1890-1970: The Maternal Dilemma (2005), and Women in Twentieth-Century Europe (2008).
