In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

LETTERS IN CANADA: 1965 EDITED BY W. F. BLISSETT The new editors count themselves fortunate in having had the transition eased by Professors MacLure and Watt, the retiring editors, by Mrs. Marion Magee and Miss Margery Pearson of the editorial department of the Press, and by Miss Wendy McDonald, the Quarterly secretary. We enter upon the same round of pleasure and regret as our predecessors. The time and effort of all our reviewers is appreciated, but Professors Milton Wilson and Frank Watt must be named and thanked for their years of vigilance in the Poetry and Fiction sections, and Professors Hugh MacCallum and R. F. G. Sweet likewise merit a special welcome to the conning towers of Poetry and Religion. Astonishing when one comes to think of it-and this is the hour to stop and think-is the fact that the section of "Letters in Canada" headed "Publications in Other Languages" has from the very beginning been handled with meticulous care and assurance, and with a competence both linguistic and critical, by one man, Dr. Watson Kirkconnell. We ask our readers to look at Dr. Kirkconnell's own valediction and to join the editors in an expression of regret and thanks and good wishes. It should be observed that certain Canadian books published in 1965 have already been reviewed in the,Qp.arterlv: C. F. Klinck, ed., Literary Histo~y of Canada: Canadian Literature in English; J . Carroll, ed., Selected Letters of Samuel Richardson; R. Skelton and Ann Saddlemyer , eds., The World of W. B. Yeats; M. MacLure and F. W.
