“You Silly Little Girl”; “Ultrasound”, “Pregnancy Test”; “Lost vs. Loss”
In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

“You Silly Little Girl”; “Ultrasound”, “Pregnancy Test”; “Lost vs. Loss”

I made these comics between 2011 and 2013, and shared them online in the hope of helping to break the silence and stigma around miscarriage. They’re autobiographical apart from You Silly little Girl, which is a friend’s experience.

I’m interested in language used by medical professionals and laypeople, and how to visually communicate its impact. The Ultrasound page is part of my forthcoming graphic memoir, The Facts of Life, to be published by Myriad Editions.
