Footnotes
* The Canadian Playwright Series of one–act plays includes a Guignol piece by Mr. Milne. The Lampshade is theatrically effective, and the author’s understanding of the technical aspects of production is very apparent. Although the opening lines are a little laboured, Mr. Milne quickly succeeds in establishing a genuine atmosphere of horror and suspense. We regret that he found it necessary to change: his ending and to add an anti-climax to a first-class curtain. [Editor’s Note]
