In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

  • Editors’ Note
  • Shibao Guo and Lloyd Wong

This special issue is based primarily on papers presented at the Canadian Ethnic Studies Association and Association for Canadian Studies’ 3rd Annual Conference together held on November 23-24, 2012 at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. The overall conference theme was Ethnic Identity Formation and Change in Canada and Abroad.

We would like to thank Chedly Belkhodja, Université de Moncton/Concordia University, for his tremendous work as special guest editor. As well we would like to thank all of the authors and anonymous reviewers for their work that enabled us to publish this issue.

Finally, we would also like to thank Darryl Leroux and Malinda Smith for organizing the Review Articles and Debates section of this issue. This section continues the lively discussions and debates on Eve Haque’s recent book entitled Multiculturalism within a Bilingual Framework: Language, Race, and Belonging in Canada that began with Diane Gérin-Lajoie’s book review in our last issue. The catalyst for this section of review articles is one of the “Author Meets Critics” sessions held at the Niagara-on-the Lake conference. [End Page v]
