staring back    i see their faceswith hands stuckin some odd hour    asking questionswith arrows pointedtowards the mystery of number    after his death they wonder.        when will we die?        where has he gone?

some with dead batteriesbands broken on others,a glass window crackedor scratched.

    half theeye shoved in his pocket,so close to the nickels andquarters. up into the airtowards a registerwith the dollar bills crumpledand held between his fingers.
