In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the formation of Malaysia, the Malaysian Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society organized a series of two lectures, one delivered in Malaysia and the other in Singapore to mark the occasion. YBM Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Malaysia’s former Finance Minister and now the country’s longest-serving lawmaker, began the lecture series. He delivered his lecture on Wednesday, 25 September 2013 at the Tan Sri Hamzah Hall, Royal Selangor Club Annexe, Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. MBRAS President Tun Hanif Omar, who introduced the speaker, also chaired a lively discussion following the lecture.
