Reza Mohammadi is a poet from Afghanistan who writes in Dari. His three collections of poetry have gained many awards, including one from the Afghan Ministry of Culture. He is a prolific journalist and cultural commentator.
Nick Laird was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The recipient of many prizes for his poetry and fiction, including the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, Ireland Chair of Poetry Award, and the Betty Trask Prize, he has lived in London, Warsaw, and Rome. He is currently an adjunct professor at Columbia University in New York. He has published two novels, Utterly Monkey and Glover’s Mistake, and two prize-winning books of poems, To a Fault and On Purpose, which won the Somerset Maugham Award and the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. His latest collection is Go Giants (Faber).
Hamid Kabir was born in Kabul. His work has appeared in various television and radio programs, including Russia Today, bbc News 24, bbc Radio 4, Daily Politics, and bbc Persian. Presently he is the editor-in-chief of the only Afghan fortnightly newspaper published in London, Simorg.
