Notes Nominations are invited for the 1993 Don D. Walker Award. The Award is presented atthe Western Literature Association’sannual meeting to the author of the previous year’s best article on western U. S. or Canadian literature. Any original essaypublished in 1993 iseligible. The Nominating Committee particu­ larly would welcome nominations from sources they might overlook, such as book-length collections of essays, and journals which do not specialize in western regional concerns. All writers of prose fiction and non-fiction who live in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah are encouraged to submit manuscripts on the theme of “The Living Land.” Manu­ scripts must be complete (no works in progress), previously unpublished, of moderate length (no more than 10,000 words), and postmarked by May 31, 1994.
