Abstract

The adherence to the traditional print-distribution business model by multinational educational publishers in Australia precludes their provision of digital-first online resources for students and teachers. In other words, their print-first content embodies linear reading experiences rather than online, hyperlinked journeys. However, one publisher stands out from the rest in regard to the latter—the Jacaranda imprint of educational publisher John Wiley & Sons Australia. Jacaranda recognizes users' disruptive expectations of educational content: digital-first online modular courses that branch out into interactive learning and assessment.
