King Arthur and His Knights for Edwardian Children

From: Arthuriana
Volume 23, Number 3, Fall 2013
pp. 55-78 | 10.1353/art.2013.0036

Arthurian stories were retold for Edwardian children in a variety of collections, single texts, and school readers. This essay considers samples, from extravagant books to modest pamphlets, identifying favored characters and episodes in order to describe how skilled writers and illustrators created influential Arthurian children’s literature.
