Transport Supply of Trade and Economic Connections between Eastern Regions of Russia and APEC Countries

The Asian part of Russia, including the territories of Siberia and the Far East, is a macro region with great potential for international affairs development, especially with APEC member countries. Natural resources, industrial, scientific, and educational potential forms the base for trade and economic cooperation between Russia and APEC. The geographic location of the Asian section of Russia creates a natural transport bridge between Europe and the Asian-Pacific region, which requires the development of modern transport infrastructure. This paper analyzes some projects for developing a railway network directed toward APEC, which give the transport basis for integrating Russian and APEC markets, and shows the possibility of its economic development and growth.
