A widely respected scholar, critic, and teacher, Professor MacLure is well known to humanists for The Paul's Cross Sermons, 1534-1649 (1949) and George Chapman (1966). He has also edited The Poems of Christopher Marlowe(1968) and Marlowe: The Critical Heritage (1979), and was co-editor of Essays in English Literaturefrom the Renaissance to the Victorian Age (1964).
