Catherine Fitzpatrick was awarded her PhD from the University of Sheffield. Her research traced the mutual influence of John Berryman and Saul Bellow. She is due to take up a position at Rutgers University, Newark in September 2013.

Isobel Maddison is an Affiliated Lecturer in the Faculty of English, University of Cambridge, and Fellow, College Lecturer and Director of Studies at Lucy Cavendish College. She works on female modernism and its connections with popular fiction.
