In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

  • An Editorial Farewell
  • Andrew James Hartley (out-going editor)

This issue marks ten years since the present editorial team of myself, Jeremy Lopez and Genevieve Love, took over Shakespeare Bulletin, and it will be our last. While Jeremy is still responsible for the theatre reviews in the summer issue, the rest of the content falls under the purview of the incoming editor, Pascale Aebischer, and her team, to whom all future correspondence should be addressed.

I take great pride in what we have done over the last decade, the changes we have made to the journal’s form and content, our securing its home with Johns Hopkins University Press and, most importantly, the wealth of excellent scholarly material we have shepherded into print. I am immensely grateful to all who have worked with us in the past ten years, particularly the authors whose patience, scholarly rigor and punctuality has allowed us to continually advance the journal’s standards and reputation while also meeting the demanding schedule of a quarterly publication. I’d also like to thank those behind the scenes who have made significant contributions to the journal since I took it over: Kimily Willingham who oversaw the printing of our first issues, Carol Hamblen at Johns Hopkins, Kirk Melnikoff who ran our film section, our superb editorial board, all those who have served as blind readers of submitted content, and our past editorial assistants. A special thank you also to Jeremy and Genny who—in addition to doing their own time consuming and often thankless jobs as review editors—have helped give shape to the journal’s purpose and direction over the years. What SB has become, its international visibility, its importance to the debates and issues emerging from all aspects of performance-driven criticism of Shakespeare and his contemporaries, I owe in large part to them.

It is always hard to leave a labor of (mainly) love, but I am comforted by the knowledge that the incoming editor and her staff are the perfect hands to take over the tiller of this particular vessel. I trust our readers and contributors will give them the same support they have given me over the last decade.

Thanks and best wishes [End Page 1]
