On the Status of Scholarly Study of Henry James in Korea

This article will analyze the significance of James studies for Korean literary studies and look at trends within James studies in Korea. For the former, it will look into the literary circumstances at the time when James was introduced into Korea. For the latter, a statistical analysis of articles in Henry James Studies and other scholarly periodicals and degree theses will reveal scholarly trends within James studies. The purpose of this article is to describe the general properties of James studies in Korea and to establish their significance within Korean culture, rather than to discuss individual properties of specific James-related articles.
