RMMLA - Huntington Award I am pleased to announce that an annual RMMLA-Huntington Scholars Award has just been established to provide a $1,000 stipend to an RMMLA member for research in the Huntington Library. This award, to be offered annually, will begin in the summer of 1986. At the meeting of the Executive Board in October 1985, a committee of RMMLA members will be formed to select the recipient. Criteria for selection include value of the project, appropriateness of the research to material available at the Huntington, promise and experience of the researcher, and proposed use or distribution of the results. To apply, candidates should send five copies of the following to the Executive Director of the RMMLA by January 1, 1986: (1) a vita indicating prior research for publications; (2) a description of the proposed project to include an indication of any work done to date and an estimated date of completion; (3) a letter of application describing what Huntington materials would be used, the approximate dates of residence at the Huntington, and a statement agreeing that all funds received will be used for the purpose of research and that, should the candidate be unable to accept the award, the RMMLA would be notified immediately. The Executive Director will distribute copies to the RMMLA Committee and to the Huntington. Applicants (successful and unsuccessful) will be notified May 1. We are excited about the ability to offer this opportunity to members and pleased by the cooperation of the Huntington. All RMMLA members are invited to apply for 1986, although only one award a year can be granted. Please address applications and questions to me. Charles G. Davis Executive Director 175 ...
