This essay examines the relationship between space and gender in Malory’s ‘The Knight of the Cart.’ Castle space in particular helps determine the gender identities of the episode’s main characters. In return, the actions and words of Guenevere, Lancelot, and Meleagant define and redefine that space. (MM)
