Philip Keirle is a doctoral candidate in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Western Australia. His research explores the links between print culture and civic subject formation in late-nineteenth-century America.
Tim Lanzendörfer is a PhD candidate and lecturer at the University of Mainz, Germany, and a German Academic Research Foundation fellow in the research project "Life Writing in Early American Periodicals." He is currently finishing his dissertation on Early Republic Periodicals and Biography and is working on an anthology of Early American Biography to be published in 2013.
Lisa Olsen Tait received a PhD in English from the University of Houston. She teaches in the Department of Church History and Doctrine at Brigham Young University and serves on the Executive Board of the Mormon Women's History Initiative. She is continuing her research on women's magazines and writing a biography of Susa Young Gates.
Vanessa Meikle Schulman is Adjunct Professor of Art History at Elon University. She received her PhD in Visual Studies from the University of California, Irvine, where she wrote her doctoral dissertation on the representation of technology and labor in the nineteenth-century United States.
Rochelle Raineri Zuck received her PhD from the Pennsylvania State University and is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Minnesota Duluth. She has published on the writings of James Fenimore Cooper and Martin R. Delany and is working on a book project on rhetorics of divided sovereignty in nineteenth-century American literature and culture. [End Page 116]
