Guidelines for Submissions

Manuscripts for consideration should be submitted in duplicate to the editor: Donald Haase, Department of German & Slavic Studies, Wayne State University, Detroit, MI 48202, USA. Only original manuscripts that are not simultaneously under consideration by another journal will be considered. Send queries to the editor at the above address, by fax (313-577-3266), via e-mail at <dhaase@wayne.edu>, or by telephone (313-577-3024).

Style: Manuscripts must be prepared according to the second edition of the MLA Style Manual and use parenthetical documentation with a list of Works Cited. Manuscripts must be double-spaced, including all quotations, endnotes, and the list of Works Cited. Submissions should be prepared for anonymous review (i.e., without any reference to the author's identity).

Electronic Submission: Authors whose work is accepted for publication must submit (1) a paper copy of the final manuscript; (2) a 100-word abstract; (3) a brief biographical note; and (4) text files for these on diskette. These must be prepared on a common word-processing program such as MS Word or WordPerfect (for DOS, Windows, or Macintosh). On the diskette version of the article, endnotes should not be embedded within the file using the word processor's automatic documentation feature, but should instead be typed separately at the end of the article before the Works Cited.

Permissions for Copyrighted Materials: The author must secure any necessary permissions for copyrighted material. Permission fees are the responsibility of the author.

Reviews: Books and other media for review and all inquiries regarding reviews should be addressed to the review editor: Cristina Bacchilega, Department of English, University of Hawai'i, Mamnoa, Honolulu, HI 96822, USA (fax: 808-956-3083; e-mail: <cbacchi@hawaii.edu>).
