Announcements NOTE TO SECTION CHAIRS: In response to many comments, the RMMLA Executive Board would like to make the following recommendations : 1) Papers should be limited to 10-15 minutes in length; 2) There should be three papers per session normally; 3) Each presenter should stay within time limitations; the chair should present a time-slip when the time is almost up; 4) There should be time for discussion in each session; 5) Time should also be allowed for electing a secretary (president-elect) from the presenters; 6) Be sure that Ingeborg Carlson is given the name of the section, name of the presiding officer for next year(and the address), name ofthe newly elected secretary , special theme (ifany) ofnextyear's section, and number ofpeople attending the meeting. Only people attending the entire section meeting should be eligible to vote, and the slate should consist of those people who made presentations. 1980 SECTION CHAIRS: Ifyou plan to have a special theme or topic, or ifyou would like to explain anythingabout your session notcovered by the title, please get this information to Ingeborg Carlson byNovember 15, and she will mail this information out shortly after that date. ALBUQUERQUE CONVENTION: Joel Conarroe, the new Executive Director of the MLA will be the banquet speaker; the meal will feature Mexican (New Mexican) food. There will be optional tours (depending on the amount of interest) of Old Town, Indian Culture Center, Solar Energy Tour, and Santa Fe. There will not be an RMMLA-Authors exhibit at the 1979 convention. We've decided to have this exhibit only every other year and to exhibit only books published within the past few years, so if you're an author send your books to Jim Gaston or David Lindstrom.
