NEWSLETTER At this time of year grants and awards make the news. In our region many language department members have received awards from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Younger Humanist Fellowships have gone to James S. Malek of the University of Idaho, and to Joseph W. Meeker of Hiram Scott College, Scottsbluff, Nebraska; summer stipends have been awarded to Evelyn H. Haller, Doane College, Crete, Nebraska, to Arthur R. Huseboe, Augustana College, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and to Paul E. Jackson, South Dakota State University, Brookings; Leon L. Peterson, Eastern Arizona College, Thatcher, has received a Junior College Teaching Fellowship . Professor Robert Collmer is on leave from the English department of Texas Tech University to do research at the University of Leiden, Netherlands .
