FRANCISCAN PATHWAYS In 1982, in commemoration of the eighth centenary of the birth of St. Francis and under the sponsorship of the English-Speaking Conference of the Order of Friars Minor, the Institute inaugurated Franciscan Pathways, a series of volumes centering on the spirituality deriving from the founder of the Franciscan Family, who urged his foUowers to walk in "the footsteps of Jesus Christ" (Reg. non-bull. 1). This series consists of translations of works previously unavailable in English, reprints of notable books long out of print, and anthologies of selections focusing on individual elements of Franciscan spirituality authored by representative members of a1 1 branches of the Franciscan Fairdly and well-known admirers of the Poverello.
