Abstract

Tracking historic bushel weights of seedlots can be a useful tool to estimate seed quality during the seed-cleaning process. Seedlots not meeting expected bushel weights can be re-cleaned with higher air flow rates to remove lighter, unfilled seed, which will increase the percentage of viable seed in the lot. Here we present average bushel weights for more than 60 releases and sources of 38 species of native grasses, forbs, and shrubs from western North America.
