He has written Confession and Complicity in Narrative (Cambridge 1987) and several essays, most recently 'Alphabetic Pleasures: The Names," on Don DeLiIIo. He is currently writing "Too Resurgent': The Liquidity of the Feminine in The Aspern Papers ," which he hopes will join "Re-Poe Man" in a book on the perverse dimensions of American literature. Leonard neufeldt recently published The Economist: Henry Thoreau and Enterprise (Oxford), and is currently completing a book entitled Thoreau and the American Literary Profession. His next volume of poems, Raspberrying, is about to appear. STACEY vallas is working on a disseration entitled, Embodying the Unspeakable in Melville, Hawthorne, and Davis. john t.
