  • The John K. Walsh Award

Established to honor the scholarship and mentoring of distinguished medievalist John K. Walsh (1939-1990), this award is given annually to the author of an outstanding article published in the previous volume of La corónica. The award recipient is selected by the Executive Committee of the MLA Division on Medieval Hispanic Languages, Literatures and Cultures. All authors who publish in La corónica in a given year are automatically eligible for the award, with the exception of current members of the Executive Committee of the MLA Division. The award, which is accompanied by a certificate and a cash prize, is celebrated every year with a reception at the Modern Language Association Convention.
