The Denny C. Plattner Awards for 2005 Kenneth and Elissa May Plattner established the Denny C. Plattner Awards in 1995 to honor their late son, Denny, and his lovefor ivriting. First place winners each receive $200.00, and all winners in each category receive bookracksfrom Berea College Crafts with personalized plaques commemorating this achievement. This year's Denny C. Plattner awards were judged by Bo Ball (fiction and non-fiction) and Andrew Plattner (Poetry). The Denny C. Plattner awards honor outstanding work published by Appalachian Heritage each year.
