This issue's online content offers two contrasting audio presentations on the Sierra Leonean civil war. Both presentations are adapted from lectures given in Sierra Leone in 2010 as part of the Northern Illinois University study abroad program.

Joseph Alie (joealie49@yahoo.co.uk) is Associate Professor of History and African Studies at the University of Sierra Leone. He has served as head of the History and African Studies Department and in other leadership positions at the University of Sierra Leone.

Desmond George-Williams

Desmond George-Williams (sirdezy@yahoo.com) is Director of Resource Mobilization at the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society. He is also a lecturer at the University of Sierra Leone.
